Cisco today unveiled the Cisco® Containerized Data Center to address the evolving computing and networking needs of both public and private sector organizations. Designed and manufactured in the United States, the Cisco Containerized Data Center is a modular data center solution in a weatherized ISO container that offers an open architecture and transportable platform coupled with a unique management platform for cost-effective data center deployments. Designed to help meet the unique needs of government and commercial organizations for mobile rapid deployment, disaster recovery, support in remote areas, and better cost utilization, the Cisco Containerized Data Center offers efficient continuity of operations, increased energy efficiency, increased power density and reduced risk.

According to a recent report from Pike Research, global investment in energy-efficient data center technologies is set to reach 28 percent of the $150 billion data center infrastructure market by 2015. Designed to efficiently use power in meeting cooling and serviceability requirements, the Cisco Containerized Data Center extends the capabilities of traditional brick-and-mortar data centers, including a more energy-efficient platform that lowers operating expenses and decreases the environmental impact.
